DESCRIPTION:
This monitor will check how many minutes or days a server has been up and running, and will trigger an alert into HP OpenView Operations Manager.
- It performs a check using the uptime command, returning the number of minutes or days the server has been up
- It can be used to alert when a server has recently been rebooted (if no other mean exist, or you wish to supplement the monitoring capability)
- It can also be used to alert when a server should be scheduled for a routine reboot
- The code has been tested on the platform described but is not guaranteed to work in your environment
- This document is intended to provide you with an example of what we have done, and what can be achieved with the tools mentioned
