DESCRIPTION:
This procedure and script provides a mechanism to synchronise the HP OpenView Operations Manager for Windows (OVOW/OMW) instruction text (defined within alerts) with an HP OpenView Operations Manager for Unix (OVOU/OMU) management server acting as a "manager of managers".
Messages defined with instructions in OVOW/OMW which are then forwarded to an OVOU/OMU server do not have their instructions preserved by default. This procedure ensures instructions defined in OVOW/OMW policies are correctly displayed in messages forwarded to an OVOU/OMU server.
- Script runs on the HP OpenView Operations Manager for UNIX (OVOU/OMU) management server
- It assumes you are regularly downloading instruction data on a daily basis (but shows you what to do if not
- Automatic synchronisation process explained
