DESCRIPTION:
This monitor will check for the presence (or absence) of a specified file and will trigger an alert into HP OpenView Operations Manager.
- It performs a simple check to see if the file is present – which can be used as both a standard monitor of a fixed polling frequency, or more often, via a schedule template so that the file presence can be ascertained at a specific time, for example to check if a backup lock file still exists at 0700 for example
- Examples of using the monitoring template with both methods is provided
- It can be used to check for the presence or absence of a specific file
- The code has been tested on the platform described but is not guaranteed to work in your environment
- This document is intended to provide you with an example of what we have done, and what can be achieved with the tools mentioned
