DESCRIPTION:
This monitor will search for the presence of core files starting in a specified directory and will trigger an alert into HP OpenView Operations Manager.
- It does a basic search for any file named “core” in the specified directory path and then verifies that the file is a true core file
- The data passed back to the HP OpenView monitoring template is done so that further processing can be performed in the HP OpenView monitoring template as required
- The code has been tested on the platform described but is not guaranteed to work in your environment
- This document is intended to provide you with an example of what we have done, and what can be achieved with the tools mentioned
